Swallows Class headed out, very excited, to visit the Space Centre in Leicester. We started the day in the planetarium, learning about what it takes to become an astronaut. Absolutely incredible animation all over the ceiling had the children gripped! Then we explored the solar system, particularly enjoying lifting the weighted baked beans tins to replicate the differing amounts of gravity on the planets. We also climbed the 144 steps up the rocket tower and launched bottle rockets. Everyone was pretty tired on the journey home and a few slept soundly on the bus!
