We had the pleasure of a visit to Oxford synagogue in response to a series of lessons regarding our Big Question in ‘World Beliefs’, Do We Need Special Places?. Our tour of the synagogue was led by Marianne, whose knowledgeable and warm welcome supported our learning. The awe and wonder moment of the opening of the arc to reveal the beautiful array of torahs will no doubt remain with the children. We also enjoyed participating in a role play of Shabbat, accompanied by grape juice (wine) and cholla bread. We thoroughly enjoyed the activities. As always, the children were enthusiastic, asked relevant questions and were well behaved.
