The chill after our sunny spell did nothing to dampen our spirits. Forest School was filled with magic and imagination. We began the session by admiring the beautiful bluebells that are just beginning to emerge on the forest floor. A speedy team game challenged our collaborative and communication skills. Miss Horner inspired a large group of children to make woodland wands that were the centre piece in many imaginative games. The children took great glee in turning the teachers into frogs, stone and many other creatures. Who would have guessed that Combe was a haven for talented wand bearers!
One-to-one whittling was also experienced. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharpening sticks then using them in a variety of ways. Today we also had the development of a glove wormery! A morning that was good for the imagination and good for the soul.
