Today saw the completion of our pupil Half Marathon in the form of the Oxford Schools Challenge. This term the whole school have run 12 miles then the final 1.1 mile run took place in Oxford as part of the Oxford Half Marathon event. Despite the awful rain, children & parents alike were in high spirits. The smiles said it all, and a parent quote ‘don’t worry about the rain- they’re not made of sugar’ summed up the determined mood.
The pupils of Combe exemplified the true spirit of our school Christian values. They demonstrated excellent community spirit by bonding well as a team before the race in the pouring rain. Compassion was seen as they helped each other round the course. It was with wisdom that they planned their routes to make it enjoyable for their individual needs. All was complete with a fabulous medal and more smiles. We are very proud of our wonderful team. 100% effort was given by all.
Go Combe!
