The Corinthian Partnership is a collaborative network of local schools wishing to work together in order to enhance and improve educational outcomes for children at all of the schools through maximising the skills and resources available to each.

The four schools are Aston & Cote CE Primary School, Cokethorpe Junior School, Combe CE Primary School and Ducklington CE Primary School.

The schools believe there is great potential to work together effectively to maximise resources and skills in the following areas:

  • Academic achievement
  • Improving teaching and learning
  • Assessment for learning
  • Sport
  • Music
  • Drama
  • Pastoral
  • Professional development

Some examples of our collaboration in previous years are:

  • Corinthian Partnership Day – pupils went to Cokethorpe School to take part in their Corinthian Partnership Day. Whilst Year 4 and spend the day constructing a Lego city, Year 6 enjoyed sessions in art, philosophy, djembe drumming and circus skills. They learned about Henri Matisse, they honed their debating skills, and they had a brilliant time creating rhythms, walking the tightrope and trying to juggle. Everyone enjoyed the barbecue in the last of the summer sunshine and went home bursting with new ideas and excitement
  • Year 5/6 Space Show – Year 5/6 visited Cokethorpe to watch a space show which enhanced learning in their ‘What lies above our heads?’ topic
  • Year 6 Maths Challenge – Year 6 children from across the partnership attempted a maths problem. Click here to give it a try
  • Year 5 Reading Day
  • The Cokethorpe Conference– Teachers from Combe attended a full day conference and benefitted from excellent CPD
