We value the importance of music across the school. Pupils cover the music aspects of the National Curriculum. More information on this can be found on the Music curriculum page.
Whole Class Instrumental Lessons
All pupils learn an instrument as a whole class during their time in Year 5 and 6, through Oxfordshire’s Music Service First Access programme. Currently the instruments offered are brass, clarinet, strings, guitar, keyboard, African drumming and ukulele.
Individual Music Tuition
We offer individual music lessons within the school day. Liz McArdell teachers Piano and Cello on Monday and Tuesday. An OCC music teacher teachers guitar, both 1:1 and in small groups on Tuesday. Music Workshops
The children take part in music workshops where they spend the whole day learning to play an instrument and then end the day by performing to parents and the other pupils.
