Forest School

It was with much excitement and enthusiasm that Key Stage One entered Peagle Woods for the first Forest School session of the term. Today we familiarised ourselves with the site and learnt about personal safety and risk assessing hazards. The children enjoyed the variety of activities- cognitive, physical, social and emotional, creative and spiritual. Some of us made magical Peagle Woods wands while others made a bow or sling shot. These were used safely in their play. There was much fun had whilst bouncing on a fallen branch. No breakages this week! We also found the woods to be a great habitat for many living creatures. It is always wonderful to see another side to the children’s personalities which often comes with a change of environment. The children behaved impeccably, and we are already looking forward to the next session.
