We value the importance of music across the school. Pupils cover the music aspects of the National Curriculum.
Individual Music Tuition
We offer individual music lessons within the school day. Liz McArdell teachers Piano and Cello on Wednesdays and Fridays and Paul Cattrell teaches guitar on Thursdays.
Music Workshops
The children take part in music workshops where they spend the whole day learning to play an instrument and then end the day by performing to parents and the other pupils. This year, the workshops are as follows:
Year 1/2- Music from around the World
Year 3/4- World War Two Music
Year 5/6- Local Folk Music
We look forward to adding photos once the workshops take place.
First Access
All pupils spend a year learning an instrument as a whole class, through Oxfordshire’s Music Service First Access programme. Currently the instruments offered are brass, clarinet, strings, guitar, keyboard and ukulele. The children in Year 5 and 6 are currently learning the Clarinet through the First Access programme. Lessons take place on Wednesday afternoons.
