Happy New Year Everyone!

Welcome back to the Spring Term where our Big Question is “Where in the World Would you Like to go?” We will have lots of opportunities to explore the globe, starting with learning about the different continents and oceans. Which countries will we visit? The children will help decide! Our learning will be based around this question and will include science, geography, art, DT as well as story-telling and writing. We will be enhancing our topic with a Virtual Reality workshop later this term and ending with a trip to Legoland to see monuments of famous places that we have learnt about.

Year Ones will continue to work with their peers for daily phonics sessions, P.E, computing, R.E, music and a continuous provision session each week. In addition to this, they will also have Forest School after Half-Term with Kingfisher Class which they loved last term.

P.E for all Red Kites is on a Wednesday with Super Sam and for Year Ones on a Friday.

Homework for Year Ones is set on a Friday. This consists of Mathletics plus spellings which are set on Readiwriter. There is also a piece of Phonics homework set on Google classroom which is linked to the learning done in class.

We strongly encourage all children to read at home 5 times a week and children receive certificates as incentives for this.

Show and Tell takes place each Friday and children have their turn once a fortnight. Look out for the theme via Dojo.

We are looking forward to another successful term. Thank you all, as always, for your support and hard work.
