This term our Big Question is “Is light important?”

We will be looking at different light sources and investigating properties of materials as well as looking at nocturnal animals.

Our historical focus will be to look at how certain famous people from the past have made a change to our world and in the first half of term we will be looking at Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. In the second half of term we will explore The Great Fire of London and how Samuel Pepys’s diary is a valuable source of information.

For the children in their Reception year, our planning is led by our observations of the children. We are guided by their interests and provide learning opportunities based on this. There is a display board outside our classroom which will show you what the children have been learning and how we have enhanced our provision each week.

P.E for Year 1 is on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and for Reception is on a Thursday. The Reception children will have a “Relax Kids” session on a Friday afternoon.
