Our Summer Term began with our Big Question “Is Movement a Must? “We are exploring what this means and will be visiting The British Motor Museum in Gaydon to enhance our learning. We will also be looking at the achievements of some famous people linked to transport, starting with Amelia Earhart.

We continue to use books and poems to support our Literacy work. Our trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park inspired us to write a class poem based on John Foster’s “I went to the Farm,” and “The Pizza Princess” inspired us to write our own menus and make delicious pizzas! Growing things is always important to Red Kites class and we have planted carrots and potatoes this term as well as sowing some wild flower seeds. Strawberry plants next….

P.E this term is taught on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon and we always try to do this outside.

For Year One children, Mathletics and spelling homework (via Readiwriter) is set every Thursday and we encourage all children to read 5 nights a week. Achievements are shared each week in our Celebration Worship when certificates are awarded for number of nights reading at home.

Thank you, as always, for your support and hard work, it is very much appreciated.
