Brazilian Capoeira Workshops

On Monday 28th February, each class took part in a Brazilian Capoeria workshop as KS1 are learning about countries around the world. Rocco, Year 3 has written a blog about his experience:

‘A guy came in and played a instrument that looked like a bow and arrow with a pot on the bottom. He played it with a tub filled with beans. Also the tub had a handle and he put a stick through the handle and moved it up and down the string of the bow and arrow to make the noise. Then he got the tambourine he played it very well and carefully he also sang with the rhythm of the tambourine.

He taught us a dance to go with the rhythm. At the end, we all gathered in a circle so we could go into the circle with a partner and do our dance together.

My opinion about the workshop is awesome.’
