Year 1 and 2 visit the Motor Museum

Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful day at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, sharing their knowledge and exploring the vehicles element of our Big Question, ‘Why Is Movement A Must?’. There was much awe and wonder in seeing a replica of Karl Benz’ fist motorcar- the horseless carriage. With Moira’s help, we loved exploring motor vehicles through time and were fortunate enough to be able to sit in the vehicles, experiencing them first hand. If you don’t know where ‘potholes’ originated or where the phrase ‘I don’t give two hoots’ originated, please ask any of our Key Stage 1 pupils! Jim then took us on a tour of Bessy the bus, who is 100 years old. We spotted so many differences to modern day buses. The children were a credit to the school and their knowledge, enthusiasm and impeccable behaviour was commented upon by the staff at the museum. Well worth a visit as a family.
