Year 6 to IMPS

In thick frost, Year 6 set off to Witney Hospital to take part in IMPS (Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools).  It was a busy morning, in which they practised what to do on finding someone who had been in a range of different accidents. They performed CPR on a doll – hard work! – and put one another into the recovery position. They discussed how to make an emergency call and learned the acronym DRS ABC. They also talked about bicycle safety, with certificates given to children who always wear a helmet, and cuts, burns, electric shocks and road traffic safety. The highlight was, as always, getting their finger plastered! They children were exemplary and a credit to us all.
